Student Performance Tips
Students should dress up for the recital (slacks, skirts, or dresses). Practice your recital pieces wearing your recital clothes and shoes. Beware of bracelets, rings, high heels, etc. that may not contribute to a smooth performance.

How to perform:
1. Walk to the piano and adjust the bench.
2. Sit on the bench and take a deep breath.
3. Listen to the piece in your head.
4. Place your fingers on the first notes.
5. Play with the tempo and dynamic you have just chosen and keep playing (no matter what).
6. Place your hands in your lap.
7. Stand and face the audience. Bow from the waist while holding the piano, and count to three as you look at your toes.
8. After bowing, smile at the audience and walk to your seat.

Recital Tips for Parents
Hold a home recital. Sit down as an audience, have your child walk to the piano and perform, and clap as they practice bowing to acknowledge the applause.

Recital Policies
- Please remember that music performance is a difficult task that requires concentration, and the audience must be respectful and attentive.
- The student is encouraged to arrive 15 minutes or so early to practice on the piano before the audience comes in.
- Audience members are expected to attend the entire program. Please do not enter or leave while a recital is in progress.
- Taking photography is distracting to your child who is performing. There will be plenty of time after the recital to take photographs of your child at the piano.
- Videos will be made of every student and uploaded to the studio YouTube channel (with prior consent).
